SERVICE: CHIP is a nationwide program that provides parents and opportunity to buy health insurance for their children at a reduced price. Services covered include regular checkups, immunizations, prescription drugs, hospital visits, inpatient/outpatient mental health treatment, and substance abuse detoxification, out patient, and residential services, and home health services. New applicants who qualify for CHIP coverage may wait up to 3 months before their childs coverage begins, families must re-enroll every 6 months.
