Early Head Start
Head Start Classrooms for 0 to 3-year-olds:
Child Inc Early Head Start is designed to serve pregnant women, infants, toddlers and parents. Early Head Start is a comprehensive Early Education and Child Development program that is required to achieve results in strengthening families.
To accommodate the unique needs of our families, EHS offers both center-based and home-based environments.
Our infants and toddlers receive all of the Head Start comprehensive services, such as health, dental, nutrition, mental health, social services, parent training, and parent involvement. These services are coordinated through the various division components in a shared-responsibility framework.
Early Head Start supports:
- Pre-natal healthy outcomes
- The parent as the primary nurturer of their children
- The physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development of each Child Inc Neuroscience and attachment in the early years
- Parent engagement
- Home visits
- Comprehensive health and mental health services
- Children with disabilities
- Seamless system of service by developing a Family Partnership Agreement
- Transition
You are eligible for Early Head Start:
- If your family income is within the federal income guidelines. To find out if you are eligible, refer to the website:
- If your child is 6 months to 3 years
- If you live in Austin and Travis County
